"Ever notice that the devil corrupts some of the most sacred words ever spoken? Jesus said 'this is my body' and gave us life. Feminists say 'this is my body' and take away life." (quote from a board member at DCF)
I was reading a story last week about some lady who conceived triplets and aborted two of them because it would mess up her life too much. "My immediate response was, I cannot have triplets. I was not married; I lived in a five-story walk-up in the East Village; I worked freelance; and I would have to go on bed rest in March. I lecture at colleges, and my biggest months are March and April. I would have to give up my main income for the rest of the year. There was a part of me that was sure I could work around that. But it was a matter of, Do I want to? ... When I found out about the triplets, I felt like: It's not the back of a pickup at 16, but now I'm going to have to move to Staten Island. I'll never leave my house because I'll have to care for these children. I'll have to start shopping only at Costco and buying big jars of mayonnaise." (from NY Times, When One Is Enough)
*sigh*
In related news, apparently now you can buy this fine t-shirt from Planned Parenthood featuring the catchy phrase "I had an abortion", and announce to the world in no uncertain terms that you murdered your own child. How lovely.
What is wrong with people? This is the most selfish society ever.
Unrelatedly, why are the Democrats giving Bill Clinton standing ovations at their convention and reminiscing about the "good old days" when he was in office? Don't they realize he's a complete jackass? I guess apparently it's better to return to the days of presidential sex scandals than to be at war, you know, worrying about the rest of the world and stuff. Let the terrorists do their thing elsewhere and hope they won't bother us. That's the American way.
Sometimes I hate this country. :P
