25 Random Things You May Not Know About Me

This meme is making the rounds on Facebook but I figured I'd throw it on the blog instead. Something to do while waiting for John to wake up from his nap (which he's bound to do before I get too far). :)

1. I took piano lessons from second grade until I graduated high school. I loved playing and miss it. Someday, when we have a house, the first thing I want to put in it is a piano.
   
2. I still keep in touch with my high school French teacher. She and I have the same birthday, and send each other birthday cards every year.
   
3. I was in Academic Decathlon instead of sports. We took multiple-choice tests for fun.
   
4. I have never taken a physics class, but I am married to a physicist.
   
5. I am still mad that I got a 99 on the Math Course 3 Regents Exam.
   
6. I majored in Computer Science and minored in Math and English. If I could go back and do it over, I would major in something different, but I'm not sure what.
   
7. I am not passionate about computers or programming. I was never passionate about my job, and I don't miss it.
   
8. My passions are my Catholic faith, and my son.
   
9. I don't consider myself to be "taking a few years off of working" to raise a family. I love being at home and I don't really care if I ever "go back to work".
   
10. I have turned out to be somewhat "crunchy" as a mother, what with the breastfeeding and cloth diapers and making baby food. But only somewhat.
    
11. I think Asher and Isaac would be great names for twin boys because they mean "happy" and "laughter".
    
12. I have hip dysplasia. I was supposed to have corrective surgery 2 months after my wedding, but I got pregnant instead. I think it was God's way of telling me I was rushing into the surgery.
    
13. My favorite topic to study about Catholicism is marriage and life issues.
    
14. I hate confrontations. But I am getting better at being honest about what I think even when others disagree. At least, I think so.
    
15. I am named after my father. So is my son.
    
16. I have always pictured myself as a mother. I have always pictured myself as a mother of boys.
    
17. If I ever have a daughter, I am going to make it my mission to dress her as girly as possible without constantly drowning her in head-to-toe pink. Pink is okay, in moderation, on a switch. But I'm not really a big fan.
    
18. My favorite color is blue.
    
19. I secretly love the movie Titanic. Don't tell anyone.
    
20. I am "Facebook Friends" with my ex-boyfriends, but not my husband. (My husband is a Facebook hold-out.)
    
21. I own 2 complete hardcover sets of the Harry Potter books: the American versions, and the British Deluxe editions. I am no longer as enthralled with the series as I used to be, but I can't decide which set to get rid of.
    
22. I don't have a cell phone. (Actually, I do have a cell phone, in a drawer, but it's not attached to a plan.)
    
23. I'm not squeamish about blood, but I get woozy at just the thought of a broken bone.
    
24. I don't watch or read the news very often. My hubby does and I hear it from him.
    
25. TV drives me crazy these days and I hope my kid never gets hooked on it. I'd rather watch a good movie.
