Also, I don't need Target telling me it's Christmas. I know it's Advent every time I go to church. I know Christmas is coming when I hear traditional Christmas music on the radio, or read the scriptures in the missal.
So Wal-Mart calls it holidays, and not Christmas - so what?!? I don't want to see the word Christmas bastardized on napkins and exploited to sell more electronic goods and fancy food.
That's basically what it boils down to - we get upset when "society" (read: stores, malls, media, etc) doesn't use the word Christmas, but really, their whole Reason for the Season is to boost their bottom line sales with manipulation and exploitation in the good name of Christ.
McDonald's doesn't DESERVE to be able to use the name of Christ and Christmas on their Happy Meal packages! I don't want to see the word Christmas in an ad that's trying to sell me a $46,000 Lexus for a gift.
I've prayed and searched in earnest and, with a solumn and humble heart, accepted Christ's cross as my own. Why should Starbucks be able to slap Christ's name on a package of coffee, paint the bag red and charge me an extra $4 for it???
Anyway, that's just an opinion of mine, that's all.

Happy Holidays vs. Merry Christmas
I read this on the boards, posted by effulgent (to give credit where credit is due!). It's a different take on the whole "Happy Holidays vs. Merry Christmas" debate that's getting so much airtime lately... very well-said, in my opinion!
