1. I voted this morning. Huzzah! Even though my vote for Bush doesn't count for much since NY always goes Democrat! But it's okay. I voted, and that's what counts. ;)
2. I've been offered a job interview. This is actually the second time they've offered me an interview, but the first time I turned it down because they were saying the job was "temporary" (not guaranteed past 1 year). This time supposedly it's a permanent job, whatever that actually means. At any rate, I've since decided that even just 1 year guaranteed working somewhere else is probably more of a guarantee than I have working here. Plus it would be a broader range of experience, and the job looks to be less useless than the one I currently do. Like it might actually have a point in the grand scheme of things. But there's no sense getting ahead of myself. At this point I've only been offered the interview, and I still have to call them to set it up anyway. :)
3. I have decided to learn Perl in an attempt to better myself. It sounds more interesting than Java. I'm not sure what I have against Java though. Maybe I'm just lazy.
4. I didn't buy birthday gifts for my parents and suddenly I feel like I need to. I'm not sure if I actually WILL though. We'll see.
5. I'm trying to get my Christmas shopping going early this year. Or at least, get a sense of what I'm giving everyone. My parents are figured out already. And I think Gram too. And I'm not worried about Joe cuz he's not too difficult to shop for. Which leaves my sister, and Joe's family. I think everyone else can make do with Christmas cards. Not that I don't like giving gifts, I just don't have lots of money to spend. And besides that you want to get people something useful, that they'll like and appreciate. And that doesn't just sit on a shelf and take up space. I'm determined that this year I'm not buying anybody anymore useless knick-knacks. :P Joe's family presents a challenge though. ;) Last year I got them all Christmas ornaments, which I could do again, but I think that gets old. Ah well... good thing I still have almost 2 months to go. :)
6. FlyLady's been getting to me the past few days. I'm a slow starter, have been doing a little bit off and on since I joined but am now trying to build on things. A week or two ago I got my new calendar and feather duster in the mail, and on Sunday I finally took some time out, sat down and transferred all the dates from my old calendar to the new one (it's a 16-month one so I can use it from now till the end of 2005), and put stickers all over it. Stickers are just as much fun as all the testimonials said they are. ;) I had to improvise since I had gotten the "GirlFriends Lifeline Calendar" instead of the "More Time Moms" calendar (since I'm not a mom :P), but the Girlfriends one is meant for teens so the stickers are stuff like "exam" and "school dance". But it's okay. The point gets across anyway. :)
6a. Yesterday I finally, finally threw away the blanket that was given to me when I got Asher. The people I got him from gave me the blanket because he'd been sleeping on it, but since he had fleas I figured so did the blanket, and out it went on the balcony cuz I didn't want the buggers in my house. I figured I'd wash it eventually. And out it sat on the balcony, through all kinds of weather, a damp (sometimes frozen), nasty, crumpled mess, for over a year. But now it is gone. Yay. :)
7. This morning Locke's message board mysteriously disappeared. I have been pondering setting up my own message board. Not that there would be any real point. Mostly it'd just be because I'd like to mess with the bulletin board program, to see how it works and what features there are. People weren't really using Locke's board much anyway, except in the last week or so when it was kinda, sorta active again. Ah well.
8. On Saturday I baked cookies. I think there are 4 left. It's going to be a real challenge NOT to finish them off tonight. Since I baked them for Joe. (Sort of.) I should bake more. And maybe something besides cookies. ;)
9. Nah, I'm done. :)
