A passing thought

Yesterday I was considering something.

I have heard the Trinity described in this way: God the Father of course is the first Person, God the Son (Jesus) is the second Person, and the Holy Spirit is the love that flows between them. Meaning, that the Father and the Son love each other so much and so perfectly, that the love itself becomes the third Person of the Trinity. I first heard this in RCIA and thought it is a beautiful way to look at it.

Then I got to thinking, isn't marriage like that? A husband and a wife love each other so much and so perfectly, that the love itself forms a new person.

Of course it's not exactly the same, since this isn't a perfect world, but I think maybe that is the way it was meant to be. We were created in God's image after all, little aspects of our lives mirror Him more than I think we realize.
