What do you want for Christmas? And I mean, REALLY want. Not the stuff you need, that you ask the parents for so you won't have to buy it yourself. Not the practical "socks underwear pots and pans". What would floor you to open on Christmas Day?

When you're shopping for Christmas presents for others, you want to give special things, things they won't forget about in a day, things that will make them smile and want to show off or at least talk about. Things that show them just how much you love and appreciate them. Sometimes that means finding something totally unexpected and unique that they'd never even think of it. But it can also mean getting them exactly what they want, that they'd never actually ASK you for, but you know deep down that they want it. Everybody has a little wish like that. They won't ask for it because it's too impractical/expensive/what-have-you. They want it, but they don't expect to get it.

And my question is, what is it for you?

Because I know there's something.

Molly just told me hers.

I have a few, but I'm not sure whether to share them. It's kind of a private thing, you know? It's the type of thing you confide in someone else about. I'd love to get ".........." for Christmas. A fleeting wish. A pipe dream. But you don't go shouting it to the world, because then someone might actually get it for you.

Ya know what I mean?

Cuz it's not JUST the gift that you want. You want the gift to come FROM someone. I want a diamond ring. But I don't want a diamond ring from my parents. :P It doesn't mean the same thing coming from them.

(Note: a diamond ring is a safe thing for me to list because everybody knows I want one eventually anyway. :P I'm just using that as an example to illustrate my point. Though I'm not sure if it's making any sense anyway.)

Anyway. It's just something to think about. Indulge your private fantasy a little. It's not selfish. You're probably not going to get it anyway. ;)
