Happy Tuesday!
Never thought I'd be saying THAT! :D
I am happy though. It's gorgeous outside, snow on the ground, clear sky -- it's worth waking up before dawn when dawn looks like this. :) Although now I'm at work, where I have no windows and won't see daylight again until 4:30 tonight. *sigh* I want an office. Or even my own cubicle. With a window. With a view. :P Since having a window here isn't all THAT great, all there is to see is some ugly road and dumpy housing. That's probably why every window in the building has the blinds drawn. :P
But I digress. ;) It really is pretty outside, though I could do without the ice. I don't think I'd quite call myself a morning person but there is something to be said about mornings. My favorite time is around 9 or 10 am, when everyone's gone to work or school and it's quiet outside. I should also mention that the coolest time of the year for that is spring, since it's warm enough to walk around. :) But again, I digress.
I hate my chair. And my desk. (Both at work.) The chair has no spring in it and the seat has no padding. The desk is not meant to be a computer desk and is too high. Lately I've taken to keeping my keyboard on my lap, in an effort to avoid getting Carpal Tunnel. See, I do take care of myself. ;) Maybe if I improve my posture the chair won't seem quite so bad... *sits up straight*... well, that's a little better, but it still causes pain to shoot down the back of my left leg. The chair's just too hard. I think the best computer chairs are actually the ones at the computer science lab at school. They're cushiony, and you don't have to put the seat as low as it gets in order for it to not cut off circulation to your legs... meaning, you can keep it at a height where it still has some give (unlike my work chair... and even my home chair).
I wrote a rock ballad yesterday. It has no tune. Joe told me to put it on my site, so it's in "Scribbles", if you want to check it out. And if you know any talented musicians who might be able to set it to music, let me know. I'm looking for a tortured eighties hair band kind of a sound, with lots of good guitar. Especially a killer intro. Cuz I wrote it for Joe and that's what he likes. :D
Maybe I should see if Strong Bad can hook me up with Limozeen. ;)
What else is up... oh! My Christmas tree! :) Yes, at long last I have my very own Christmas tree, and it's now standing proudly in the corner of my living room! It's got lights on it and everything, although they kinda look crappy. (As in, I kinda did a crappy job.) Haha, and the top of the tree blinks. On, off, on, off -- but only the top 2 feet or so. It's rather amusing. :D But anyway, I plugged it in this morning when it was still dark and my living room looked so pretty. :) *contented sigh* I haven't put the ornaments up yet... Joe's going to help me with that tonight. :) I just think it's cooler to decorate the tree together... I dunno... we always decorated the house as a family growing up, and Kristie and Mommy and I would put all the ornaments on (Daddy's job was putting the lights on and lifting whoever to do the angel). But I always loved digging through our boxes of ornaments and pulling out the ones to put up. We could never use them all, since Kristie and I each have our own box and Mom has twice as many, so we only can do the most important ones. It's fun to unwrap them though... we each have at least one from every year. :) I always like pulling out my "Baby's First Christmas" ones. ;) Mom and Dad and I each have bells with our names on them, from the year I was born... it's funny to think about, Kristie doesn't have one of those, because she didn't come along for another year and a half... I don't actually REMEMBER being the only child, but I was, for a little while. :) (Hehe, and you should see our original Christmas stockings, Mom and Dad have teeny ones and I've got this gigantic one... and must be they couldn't find one that big for Kristie so hers is little... eventually we got matching handmade ones from my aunt that happen to be the same size.) ;)
Anyway... I'm making Joe endure the ornamenting this year. :) I'm a firm believer in family traditions, especially at holidays, and decorating as a family is on the list... and since Joe's hopefully going to eventually be a significant part of that family... might as well get started now! :D Hehe... that, and it's just no fun to do it all by myself. :P
So for now, I have a tree, but the only decorations on it are the lights, and Asher, who is beside himself. He thinks it is a seven-foot cat toy. He went crazy when I was putting it up, and again when I got up this morning. And from the hole of bent branches this morning, I'd say he was climbing in the night too. *sigh* Thank goodness it is a secondhand tree... I don't mind him getting the branches out of shape so much... I'd be ready to kill him by now if it was brand new. ;) I can't wait to see what he does when it actually has ornaments... and presents underneath... :P
*Reminds self that the big snip might calm him down a little...* o:)
So tomorrow is a very important day! It is the day of Joe's last final! That means... the end of the semester! That means... only one semester to go! *cheers* *dances* Of course we still have to wait for his grades to find out whether he passes Quantum Mechanics. Which he will. :P He just likes to be prepared for the worst. ;)
Tomorrow is also the day that "Lord of the Rings: Return of the King" hits the movie theater. We got our tickets already. :D There's quite a good-sized group going too, which is always cool, since these group get-togethers are few and far-between. Plus, I'm hosting spaghetti for a bunch of us at my apartment beforehand (not everybody because I don't have the money to feed 18 people... I barely have enough to feed 8!). ;) BUT, this will serve the dual purpose of getting people together in a chatting environment (as opposed to just the movie theater where we don't talk for 4 hours), AND showing off my apartment (and cat) to my good friends who, surprisingly, haven't seen it yet! :) I've been dying to have a get-together but I needed an excuse. ;) Anyway, I am mucho excited about tomorrow. :D It is going to ROCK. :D :D :D

So... I guess there isn't much more to say really. ;) Christmas is a mere nine days away and I am pretty much done with my shopping... unfortunately not completely finished, as I still need something else for my dad, and I may need a replacement gift for my grandmother, since hers broke during shipping. :( But it will get sorted out. :) I'm looking forward to getting home, looking forward to a nice car ride with my sweetheart, and to lasagne dinner on Christmas Eve, and to church, even though I'm somewhat nervous about church at the same time. :/ I love the Christmas Eve services generally, people actually COME. :P Usually my dad and I sing, and there are lots of carols sung, and it always ends with the lights off and everybody holding lit candles and singing "Silent Night". That is the coolest. :) The biggest problem this year is that our church is having Communion, and I'm not going to receive because I'm converting, and... well, last time it was a big mess. My parents know ahead of time this time so that helps a little bit, but they don't understand why I'm doing it and thus, are not happy about it. *sigh* I really was hoping not to have to deal with all that on Christmas Eve. :( It'll be okay. I just want to have a nice relaxing Christmas with my family and I don't like this church stuff getting in the way of it... you know what I mean? You probably don't, unless you've been here before. I really just hope it will go well... I'm probably making a big deal out of nothing. :P
Anyways, I seem to have managed to talk myself down from bouncy-happy-joyful to leaning-toward-mellow... so it's time to quit. :P My cute has just signed on AIM and I am going to chat with him for a while, and that will bounce me back up again. :D
