I'm back! And better than ever! ;)
You'll be pleased to know that I have a tan. Not a dark one, but I did get some color (I have a tanline to prove it). I was also told today that I look extra skinny. I don't know how that works, what with all the dessert I ate on the cruise, but it made me feel good about myself. I had a really good day today and I'm feeling wonderful about it. :)
Cruises are awesome. I would and will definitely do it again (and probably more than once!). Next time: not going during spring break (drunk spring breakers are annoying), definitely doing a longer trip, think it might have to be Disney. :) I also want to do an Alaskan cruise... I've heard those are just awesome. ;) The boys and I decided we're going to go together again in ten years, only we'll bring along our Significant Others (or SigFigs as Locke says). :) No kids though!! (Assuming there are kids by then!)
I have so many things I could write about my week that it would take up pages and pages and only begin to skim the surface. So I'll just have to say it was awesome. Highlights: Flying over the Finger Lakes and recognizing them. Flying into Miami. Lightning over the ocean. Learning to dance the merengue, and dancing it in the pool. Dessert. Eating a snail (yes folks, I really did eat a snail, we have video footage of it). Digital photos (and video!). Compliments on the cow. Excellent conversations. Being told I was a natural at calligraphy. Tan lines. Dressing up for dinner. Shopping, and finding special things for special people. Having my hair done by Jeffy. Touching my nose with my tongue. :D Lots of laughing and smiling. Feeling the boat rock. Full moon on the water. Wind.
This has been the absolute best spring break I've ever had, hands down. :) And what makes it even better, what's keeping me going now, is that even though it's over I still have things to look forward to. There isn't that "vacation's over" letdown (that will probably come when I start working tomorrow night). But Monday I get to see Joe again and tell him all about my trip and hear about his week, and I can't wait for that. And Friday I have a job interview coming up at a place I'd really love to work, and while that is nerve-wracking I'm also looking forward to it because it is my first step toward really getting a job. Even if they don't hire me at least I'll learn what the interview process is like. And next weekend I'm coming back home again to see a childhood friend get married, and I get to have somebody special come with me and I'm really looking forward to that. And in eight weeks I'll graduate, and then I have my whole life just waiting for me to explore it. Imagine the possibilities.
And so I've had an unforgettable break, and I'm thankful for it and for the memories that I'll carry with me for a lifetime and for the eight million pictures we took, but also for the home and for the life I have to come back to, because the best is really yet to come.
I hope everyone else's week has been even a tenth as good as mine! :)
