John is 3 months old today and... chomping, drooling, fussing. Yes my friends, it appears the Teething Fairy is descending upon us. (I cut my first teeth at 3 months, so there is a precedent.) Part of me hopes they will hurry up and break through so he will feel better, while another part will be a little sad to say goodbye to his all-gums smile. Then again a new little toothy grin is going to be just adorable too!
I can't believe June is over already. It flew by, probably because it was just so darn busy. We literally had something going on every weekend, and two of those were trips out to Caz. I hope that July will slow down just a bit. Joe is back to work for 5 weeks (he's teaching for the summer program) and I might be back to work as well, from home that is. We'll see how it goes.
Last weekend Aunt Molly came to visit, and we all went to see "Wicked" the musical. (Joe's mom finally got to babysit John for the afternoon which I know she's been looking forward to.) The show was phenomenal. I can't say enough good things about it! I was so impressed by the story. I thought I had the characters pegged at the beginning, but I was wrong, and happily so. The acting, singing, dancing, costumes -- all of it was excellent. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. One of these days I plan to read the book, although a few people have said it's really not like the musical, so I'm glad I saw the show first.
There are a few things I have in mind that I would like to accomplish this month. One, Joe and I are both getting serious about our weight and setting goals for ourselves. Neither of us is really that heavy but we are not where we'd like to be either. Happily I'm down to only about 2-3 pounds over what I weighed when I first got pregnant -- however that is still about 10 pounds over what I'd like to be. (Last year after our honeymoon we had both started watching our weights like now, but John's appearance kinda killed that for me. Not that I minded!) The other thing I want to do is start settling into some loose routines for our days and weeks. I'm not very good at doing that and sticking to it (I've tried before) but I think routine will be nice for John as he grows, so I'm going to try again. It might be nice if he starts napping more regularly and we can plan better around approximate naptimes and mealtimes. (Not sure if that'll happen but my fingers are crossed.) Also I need to figure out my new role as housewife. So many plans, I just need somewhere to get started. Maybe it is time to jump back on the Flylady bandwagon.
I have bunches of pictures to resize and upload (and get printed) but again, lack the motivation. I do need to start getting pics into albums though before I fall too far behind. At least John's memory book is up-to-date!
